When we and / or people we know are going through things, we tend to relegate most of our time with the Father petitioning Him for answers. While there is nothing wrong with petitions and supplications (the Word tells us to present our requests to Him). However, the Lord wants more, He longs for so much more, He wants us to spend time with him in that secret , intimate place. 

Psalm 62:1-2, 5-8

1-2  Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved. 

5-8  My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
